It sure is cold over here...

Hi my name is Andrew Bertram, I am from Saskatchewan... (pause for laughter) It seems like most of you already know each other, so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 18 and I learned about Kaleo first at Youth Quake last year. I really didn't give it much thought, in fact me and my friend were asked to attend the information sessions and we deided that we couldn't think of anything more boring. Well now here I am. Anyway the Kaleo course came across m path again with information in the mail. I knew that I really wanted to do a one year course to start off with so I did consider it as an option. After much prayer I started pursuing application for this program. The interesting thing is that, the only other school that I was considering has very recently decided to shut their doors after many, many years. Talk about God nudgning you in the right direction! I'm not really sure what God has in store for me so far away from home and I can admitt that I am very nervous, but still really excited. I'm just glad that I have a chance to talk to some of you before next fall.

WWOOOOOOOOOOWWW!!!!!

So right now I'm pretty much just in shock. And in awe and amazement at how awesome God is. I went out for coffee with my middle school youth pastor last night. After a very hard and somewhat discouraging night of middle school youth. And he was just asking what my plans were for after Kaleo. I was saying I wasn't really sure...bible college to get a BA in youth ministry, but that's only for one day, maybe a position would open at camp for me to move into....I really have no clue. So he says, I want to put another option on the table for you. So pretty much......he wants me to be his assistent/intern for the rest of the Spring until I go to camp and then hopefully come back and be intern after kaleo, and then I could be going to bible college at the same time!!! wow wow wow wow wow Totally out of the blue, I had no idea he was thinking this. So I just wanted to share that because I am really excited (didn't get to sleep too quick last night, not sure if it was cause I was so excited or the amount of coffee I drank while we met=) Bernie (the youth pastor) is going to be meeting with the executive pastor in charge of staffing as soon as possible about this, so please pray for that!! This is an incredible opportunity, so pray that if it's the Lord's will, that everything would go ahead!! wooooohhhooooo And I guess this could kinda change what I'm doing for the next few years, if I came back after kaleo and was assistent/intern again! best part...he says he might even be able to get me an office!!!! apperently there's an empty one! hahaha how hilarious is that??? well I hope that you guys are doing awesome

MEC Outdoor Equipment Sale

Just wanted to let you know that this is a GREAT time of year to pick up anything you might need by way of outdoor gear and clothing for Kaleo! The suggested list of stuff to bring can be downloaded by clicking here. Of special note is that cotton, which makes up 99% of most people's wardrobe, is rather useless when wet, and well... sometimes we get wet. Most outdoor clothing is synthetic or wool, which wicks moisture away from your body and dries quickly.

If you live anywhere near a Mountain Equipment Coop store (see locations), they have a great clearance on right now - check it out by going to www.mec.ca and clicking on "Clearance" in the left coloumn. You can also check out their Used Gear Swap. Let me know if you have any questions or need any suggestions about what to buy!

Why Change?

Hey guys!!
So I was thinking the other day and a question popped into my head, and I was wondering what your opinion was. So here's the question, If God loves us just the way we are why are we always working on to change who we are??? God is the only one that matters so why are we constantly trying to change that??
So what do you guys think??
