Welcome to Kaleo 5!
Hey all you new Kaleoers! Well that's me on the left for those of you that I haven't met yet...
I hope you guys are ready for the ride of your life! I can't believe we're looking at next year...we still have another semester here and a summer, and I'm already getting so excited to see you all here. It's been so much fun watching God draw together yet another community of young people who seek to follow Him with their hearts and their minds. I have been so privileged to have the opportunity to work with Kaleo the past two years, and I'm excited that God has seen fit to keep me here in the future.

To give you a little background...My name is Amanda, and I've been working with Qwanoes since the summer of 2004. I was offered this position as the Student Life Leader at Kaleo during the summer of 2005, and I just never went home (which for those of you who I haven't met yet is California). During the summers I have the privilege of serving as the Head Female Counselor, and I have so enjoyed the opportunity to serve alongside so many people that exhibit the character of our Great God. I cannot wait to experience with you all that God has in store for you next year; this program will knock your socks off if you let it!
Wow! This is so exciting! Even though I know most of you already, it's been really exciting to read your blogs and see you interacting with each other. Jenny, I really enjoyed our conversation on the phone, and I'm so excited that we will be able to have many, many more this next year. Scotty, even though we haven't met yet, I'm totally stoked to know that you will also be joining us next year!
God Bless you all as you seek His guidance over the next couple months...keep blogging!
Amanda

So guys I need a little help...I was just wondering what your opinion is or any thoughts that you might have on putting white Christmas lights in your car that plug into the cigerette lighter??=) hehehe Amanda I hope you had fun boarding while I was doing Hamlet!! We'll have to hit up Starbucks at missions fest...cu then!
Hey Amanda!!! Ya, your on the blog now. Thats awesome so anyways, I'll see you at missions fest.
I never actually saw the lights so, I'm going to be opinionless. Though I think the best part is that they were still up on January 4th.
Hey! I seriously can't wait to meet you!! Hey and perhaps i shall be seeing you at missions fest!
AMANDA! Oh how I love you girl!!! I can't wait for Kaleo/ the summer!!!! I miss you!! Oh and I think lights in side if a car is amazing!!!
well obviously I'm not getting enough support on this Christmas light thing!!!!...ok a little white car with white christmas lights...still up the first week of Jan...anyone think it slightly strange??? maybe more guys need to be accepted...=)
i agree!!! who puts christmas lights on their car!?!?! lol and in january!?!?! thats ridiculous!! hahaha just thot id agree with my fellow male and stand up to the females!!!
hmm, well i dunno its festive! i love christmas! i suppose it is kinda werid but i mean at least their white! not like red and green....
Well done brother...carry on the torch! :) Have fun Amanda!
I pretty sure that your not going to win this one Chris and besides aren't people at camp supposed to be weird as you are stating that the christmas lights in the car are. Anyways Jenny has a good point, they are white and Amandas car is white, which means it matches.
Scotty thank you!! That was getting kinda scary there! but Aimee you see camp people are...different, even special....weird is just a whole other level=)
PS thanks for the support bro, you taught me everything I know=)
don't be generalizing the opinion of males! i think christmas lights inside a car is sweet, and who says you have to take them down when christmas is over? i hope they're still up.
if you're not weird, you're boring.
by the way, my name is john and i'm from kaleo 2. tip: jimbad is a precious resource, not many like him. so while you're out there (and before and after as well) make sure you use him (in a good way, don't misinterpret that). you'll learn a lot.
Chris, I'm pretty sure I've been told that camp people are weird on many occasions and that most people that work at camp are weird. Pretty much being weird is awesome!
Chris ... we've been over this... you aren't always right.. just face it....
~Kristen
Ps: Amanda I love the idea of Christmas lights on your car... although...I do remember hearing a discussion about it perhaps breaking some laws...
It's true all camp people are weird...and yes definetly including me=) but alas this huge big conversation and Amanda either isn't even reading it...or is choosing to ignore it!!! bummer eh=)
hey just a thought Jenny and Scotty...next week like wed or thurs or fri (31, 1 or 2) what are you guys up to? do you have exams then cause I'll be at camp then and maybe you guys could come...it's one of the best classes I've heard, Gospels, and it'd be sweet to meet and then we could probably sit in on a class together...just a thought=)
i so have a pro d day for semester turn around!!!!!!!! on wednesday....intoresting theroy....we shall see!!
Sorry I missed this conversation! Christmas lights in cars are fantastic...and they totally match...and being "weird" is a privilege!!! Keep it up girls!
ps Chris..you know you like them...just admit it brother/looking forward to that coffee at missions fest!
and Jenny that would be awesome to see you there...I really hope it works out
Coffee!? Who drinks coffee anyways these days...hehe. Is that before or we after we tear up the mountain bro?!
Ok you caught me Amanda I love them...naaah....well lets just say I don't think I could drive your car with them on, unless I had my straw cowboy hat of course=)
Jenny that would be sweet if that would work for next week!
mhmmm nothing better on a rainy day then a starbucks=) I've got one right now! and bro you're probably more addicted than me or Amanda!
So busted...yes more than you, but Amanda? I don't know about that one!
so you guys can probably guess that my family is rather addicted to coffee and Starbucks...but alas Amanda has apperently fallen away as she is on only decaf coffee=) hahaha It is a good idea though...so the question for you guys...decaf for the flavour or regular simply for the caffeine, what's the preference? hahaha
caffeine ALL the way!!!!
I have to admit I miss the flavor that comes with the caffeine, but I don't miss the headaches!!! Anything that alters my ability to enjoy the day God has set before me has got to go!!
I always thought the solution to the headaches was to simply have caffeine to make them stop!!...hmmmmm
cu tomorrow Amanda!
Hey guys!! O kso jsut a note Starbucks is nothing compared to hte coffee at 'In the Bean Time' Oh yummmy mc yummerson!!!
so Jenny or Scotty, are you guys going to be at missions fest tomorrow??
that would be a negative for me..i've got a hockey game today and tomorrow, and apparently i should be studying for my history exam....
o sorry no i have a family thing:( but what time does it go until tomorrow?
ummm I think till 5?!??! but I don't think I'll be there...and Amanda and Jim are gone which kinda sucks....but other camp people will be there including my bro if you do go by....I just got back from missions fest, it was sweet but man I'm so tired!!
oh and clarification, Amanda may not be drinking caffeinated coffee at home...but she gets regular coffee at Starbucks....which she goes to quite a lot!! The first thing I did when I got to missions fest on fri was go to starbucks... and she was already there, and then she went this morning, and then again with me in the afternoon....ADDICT=)=)
Hey Jenny, is wed going to work for you??
nope, unfortunitly not:( blast i'm missing everything!! i'll meet you guys sometime beforehand!
oh too bad!! ah well maybe for another class! I get to help the maitenance guys re shingle one of the lodges when I go on wed! it shall be saawweeeet=) Hope your guys's week is awesome! YEAH provincials
I'd just like to point out Chris that in order to spot me at Starbucks, YOU were also there!!!
hey I have no problem admiting I'm addicted to starbucks! and I also don't try to cover it up by drinking the so called "decaf" stuff=P soooo anyways, wanna go to starbucks on thurs or fri morning amanda??
oh you should have said something while you were here...i would have loved to...next time i guess...hope you enjoyed liftoff, it was cool to see you up there helping robby and kim...i'm sure they really appreciated it
So guys I sat in on class for just an hour and it was AMAZING..oh man Wes is an incredible prof, I was so impressed. It was like what I hope for for bible college...they were discussing stuff and actually diving into the gospels...pretty wicked! I'm so stoked for that class!!!!!!! just maybe not that final test that K4 wrote today....random thought, Kaleo 9 will be hilarious, K9!! bahaha...hmmm maybe I need coffee
