Hey Guys!
I'm getting incredibly excited for Kaleo! Anyways, I was talking to my parents about it tonight and they have a few questions I'm wondering if anyone could help me with.. How is everyone from out of province getting all their stuff out to BC? Or any past students how did you get it out there? What's the cost of that? Also, where is ya'll buying all the "gear" we need lol. Thanks for any helpful hints!

So, I can't help you with the getting all your stuff here 'cause I live in B.C. and most of my stuff will already be there cause I'll just leave it at Qwanoes at the end of the summer. But, I'm getting/have gotten most of my stuff from MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op) so if you have one near you go there is an amazing store!
Definetly MEC is the way to go, great stuff for good prices. I've bought the majority of my stuff from there. The rest is mostly Helly Hansen from this wear house sale they do out here, by special invite that a friend always gets...so pretty much do the bargain shopping. But MEC is amazing because it's still great stuff!
I shipped all my stuff from Calgary to Duncan ( 20 mins from crofton)through greyhound. I put all my stuff in those big Tupperware bins and shipped 4 of them... it was like 80$
Hey I definately drove out there, so I brought it all with me. We stopped at MEC in like Calgary on the way there, and bought all the stuff I needed..... I'm from sask, so we don't have crazy stores like that around here..... Ya, go to MEC, it's great.
I sent out an email to everyone on the list and asked if anyone was passing through or was from my area. Luck was on my side as Brandon (the K4 intern*) was driving out and was passing through my area.
But the greyhound thing also works well.
I would suggest you "just pray...and Go!" as if a missionary*
i also shipped a mondo cardboard box via the greyhound from ontario and it cost me about 80$ as well. it was a good way to go.
thanks for all the advice! in which case... is anyone travelling to Kaleo thro sask? Anyone want a flying buddy or to pick something up on the way?? i guess we definately have some time yet before we need all that decided lol.
Hey I'm leaving from Sask! Melfort! well my parents want todrive me but i'm ooking to fly so... maybe we can fly together.
